What Is An Eclipse?

Eclipse. Blotting out of the sun, moon. By another body coming between it and the eye or between it and the source of its light; loss of light or brilliance; obscurity. Cause to suffer eclipse; out shine, surpass.

I think when the earth is blocking the sun raise to the moon.

The eclipse started at 5:30 pm in the evening on a February 20, 2008. I was in Ventura at the time. It was nice and clear that evening, at that time. The moon looked huge. It was starting to get cover up, as I rode into Santa Paula. In Santa Paula it was cloudy. Up where I live , you can barely see it, up on highway 150 near the Oaks. I kept looking outside with my husband. I called my father and mother. They were excited, also. Off and on I could see what was happening. I think about 9:00 pm when it was over. I was happy to have seen the eclipse in the evening so early. Sometimes it is late in the morning where the eclipse has happen. This was my third time I have seen a night eclipse.

 

“Conducting Research”

I think it is important to use as many resources as you can, in making your paper. It helps people to relate with your reading and where you got your information from.  Also, when you write up your paper you need to give any credit to others that helped you develop your paper. And punctuation it properly is important too.

1. What is your topic or the problem you hope to address? – My topic is Recycling and Helping in Your Community . I want to address that we need to make recycling and helping in your community; a everyday thing (like getting up in the morning or drinking a glass of water)
2. What do you think will work as a solution? – Just keep teaching recycling at home , school, business,at work and everywhere you go. Eventually it will become part of your lives.
3. What personal experience can you use to develop your essay and support your claims? – I helped voleenter at beach clean ups. I helped volunteer at my child’s school, in there living garden, when my children were younger. – I helped volunteer in my city (Santa Paula Beautiful – clean up).
4. Which texts might help you develop your essay and support your claims? – Enter net , web sites and city blogs.
5. Who is your audience? ( Who do you want to convince to take what action about which problem?) – Everyone in my Great State of California. 

About Myself

I am 44 years old. I am married and have three sons. One is still in high school. My husbund is retired. I am a stay home mom. This is my second semester here at Ventura College. I hope to get a degree in Librual Arts. I going to try my hardest; its been a long while since I have been to school. Right now I am coming here as a personal goal.

What will you do in the coming months to help save the earth? To transform your life?

1) Change my light bulbs too the energy saving spirals.

2) Sweep my gutter in the front of my house; so it won’t go to the drain, to the river, then to the ocean.

3) I will share with my husband about what we are studing in class that day; about our earth. And discuss what we as a family can do; if not anything. But at least we will be aware.

4) After I use a paper. If the back side is not used. I will cut it up in squares. And use it as scratch paper and leave it by my telephone.

5) Try to get rid of some of my clutter, so it won’t own me. Because I see it everyday and think about it. I also need to organize better also.

What the Border Means to Me

It means a line that separates two countries. It is a political or geographic boundary.

A border to me, is a long wall between the United States and Mexico. If we did not have this border all kinds of people would run across. We would be over crouded. It would also ruin our econony here, in the United States.
